Card Design Tweak

I’ve printed 2 decks, cut out 1. After playing with it a bit I’ve decided that the top bar needs to be increased in size by 150% for improved legibility, here’s an example: Scrying

Beta 2.1 Deck

Board with new Beta 2.1 Cards!

Icons & Insets

After much experimentation with various Icons & Insets I have settled on a new combat icon, the one in the middle of the second row up from the bottem. I’ve done a print test and it works, so i’m adding it to the combat cards now. I haven’t come up with any inset patterns that I like better than my 1st 4, so I’m stickin with.

And in case you were ever in doubt that I am overly anal(itical), here’s the running list of dragon colors that I kept while creating the cards: dragon_colors.txt

Charged Lightning

Charged Lightning! I have completed the set of cards! Now must I re-visit the icons and insets, and compile the cards for the printer. The rules I will print later on cheaper cardstock, as they are still being revised.

2.1 Spell Balance

2.1 Spell Balance
I’ve done this many times on scratch paper, but here it is in a web page for all to see my process. I categorize each spell based on what it does, and then look at the distribution.

In this case I am doing it to get a feel for the game as it moves into beta 2.1, and to decide what to do with the new Pact spell, because its old definition allows for less flexibility in the way I handle Life.
